Mission Statement

The Council of Catholic Women will act to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service; to inspire and promote Gospel values in a constantly changing world.

 Purpose

Our purpose is to provide unity, leadership and motivation for Catholic women of the parish in their individual and collective efforts toward salvation.

 Membership

All women of the parish are automatically members of the Council.  Meetings are four times a year,  generally, the 4th Sunday of September, October, January and March after the 8AM Mass.

Commissions

As recommended by the National Council of Catholic Women to address these basic areas of concern:

Church Communities – Include Parish celebration of 25th Wedding Anniversaries,  support of Vocations through the monthly Prayers for Priests,  Diocesan Celebration of 50th Wedding Anniversaries, remembrances for first communicants, confirmands, and those being received into the Church, flowers for our shut-ins at Christmas and Easter, Mother- Daughter Banquet, Christmas Bazaar, Lenten Fish Fries and support and assistance with other parish events and activities.

Family Concerns – Elizabeth Ministry, Bereavement Ministry,  Bereavement tree during Advent, get-well cards to ill and hospitalized parishioners, collection for the Shelter for Abused Women.

Community Concerns – Mom’s House Collection during Lent, Support of migrant ministry, assistance to elderly in preparing income tax and rent rebate forms, WRAP campaign in October, donation of Catholic Literature to the Prison Ministry, Alpha Club Activity in March.

International Concerns – Support of the Water for Life Project of Catholic Relief Services, donation to the Madonna Plan of Catholic Relief Services.

 Legislation and Pro-Life – Voter Guides for upcoming elections, Mother’s Day Carnation Sale for “A Women’s Concern” Pregnancy Center, attendance at Respect Life Activities and Liturgies, bulletin inserts for Respect Life Sunday.
